Cycling

Bike ridersMelbourne is Australia’s only capital city with an extensive network of dedicated bike lanes on the roads, which increase safety and encourage bicycle use.

The City of Melbourne is committed to becoming a cycle-friendly city. Bicycle Plan 2007-2011 is a five year plan focussing on improved on and off-road bike path networks and better bike facilities. It also seeks to educate and inform motorists and cyclists about safe cycling.
