The Melbourne Tourism Industry Leadership Program (MTILP) facilitated by Destination Melbourne and proudly supported by the City of Melbourne was launched in Melbourne in 2009.
MTILP is a well designed and professionally delivered educational training program, created specifically for developing leadership potential in Victoria’s tourism industry.
Unique to Australia, MTILP is an innovative program that fills a niche for specialised training of Victorian tourism industry employees with demonstrated leadership potential.
Raising the professional standards of Victoria’s tourism industry is a primary aim of MTILP. The strategic goals of the program are to:
- prepare and coach participants toward executive level and leadership roles
provide practical learning opportunities
- foster collective leadership in the Victorian tourism industry
- dovetail with Victoria’s Tourism Excellence program; and
- demonstrate a commitment to sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship within the tourism sector.
The goals are delivered through 10 full day workshops conducted over a nine month period.
