The first Melbourne Retail Advisory Board was formed in July 2006. It advises the Melbourne City Council on ways to ensure our city remains a world-class centre for shopping. The board plays a key role in building the profile and success of Melbourne’s retail centre.
Members of the current advisory board include representatives from Australian Retailers Association, David Jones, Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD), e.g. etal, Hill of Content, Jones Lang LaSalle, Melbourne Central (GPT), Melbourne City Council, Myer, Public Transport Victoria, NH Architecture, QV Property Management, Renouf & Associates and Sussan Corporation.
The 'Melbourne Retail Strategy 2006:2012' was developed under the auspices of the advisory board, who oversee the strategy’s implementation.
Members of the Melbourne Retail Advisory Board meet four times a year, in February, May, August and November.
