What's on City of Melbourne

Event support programs

The City of Melbourne has a variety of event support programs to help you stage your event successfully.

Conferences, conventions, exhibitions and other business events

If the event you are staging is a business event such as a conference, convention or exhibition within the City of Melbourne boundaries, you can take advantage of our business event sponsorship. Businesses may apply for funding to assist with event costs or for in-kind sponsorship, such as satchels for delegates, maps and brochures, welcome receptions or a speech by a councillor or the Lord Mayor. For full details of what is available and how to apply, see Business event sponsorship.

Festivals, shows and all other events

The City of Melbourne offers two rounds of event funding through the event partnership program. Four different categories of funding are available, from small grants of $5,000 to grants of more than $50,000 for large-scale events. Annual funding is available for iconic events that contribute significantly to the cultural life of the city. In-kind sponsorship is also available. For more information and how to apply, see Events Melbourne Sponsorships

Facilities

If your business is a not-for-profit organisation, you may be eligible for the Community Use of Town Hall Scheme (CUTHS), which covers the cost of room hire and venue support staff for Melbourne Town Hall, North Melbourne Town Hall or the Meat Market in North Melbourne. For more information, see Sponsored use of town halls.
