Background
Since 2003, the City of Melbourne has held the annual ‘Melbourne Women in Business Lunch’. Targeted towards businesswomen in Melbourne, the lunch is an initiative of Deputy Lord Mayor Susan Riley and other female councillors, to show the City of Melbourne’s support.
The event is held annually to acknowledge the achievements of women and the important role they play in Melbourne’s business community. It also provides a platform for women to engage with other businesswomen outside their normal networks.
Past Women in Business Lunch themes include ‘Women on Boards’, ‘Women in Sport’, ‘Generation Y’, ‘Women going Global’, ‘Women in the Business of Making a Difference’, ‘Integrity – the Essence of Success’ and 'Women of Influence'.
