Melbourne Knowledge Week provides an umbrella under which organisations can deliver self-funded and self-managed knowledge-related events. Melbourne Knowledge Week provides an exciting platform for your event to reach new audiences and facilitate the sharing of knowledge. Melbourne Knowledge Week will be held from 26 November to 1 December 2012.
Melbourne’s particular strengths in the knowledge sector include:
- higher education and research
- the creative industries (particularly design)
- biotechnology
- advanced manufacturing
- Information and Communication Technology.
Melbourne Knowledge Week is a City of Melbourne initiative established in November 2010 and was initially held to coincide with the 2010 Knowledge Cities World Summit.
It was here that Melbourne was recognised internationally for its strengths in the knowledge sector when it was awarded the ‘Most Admired Knowledge City Award’ by the World Capital Institute and Teleos.
Expressions of interest are now open to businesses, organisations, educational institutions, networking groups, community groups and individuals who wish to showcase knowledge-related projects, thinkers and capabilities as part of this year's event.
