Introduction

The Sustainability Checklist and Fact Sheets have been created for businesses who are involved in the design, project management or implementation of retrofitting or new buildings.

Within this document is a checklist and eight fact sheets. The checklist is divided into eight principles, each with a corresponding fact sheet: 

• project lifecycle
• energy and greenhouse
• materials and waste management
• heritage
• biodiversity
• onsite environment quality
• water consumption and
• stormwater.

The document also includes references to strategies, action plans, manuals and tools which provide further information. Where a web resource is available, the links are provided.
