Melbourne Office Tianjin

History

The Melbourne Office Tianjin was founded in 1998 by a consortium including the City of Melbourne, the Australia China Business Council, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and Taylors Schools Limited.

The City of Melbourne is the only Australian local government to have an established business office in China. This decision has led to many very positive outcomes for both the citizens of Melbourne and the citizens of Tianjin.

Objectives

The Melbourne Office Tianjin is the City of Melbourne’s dedicated resource designed to facilitate trade, investment, civic and educational exchange between the two cities.

 

The objectives of the Melbourne Office Tianjin are to:

  • facilitate two-way business and investment
  • encourage exchanges of culture, sport and information
  • develop an active sister city relationship that will generate outcomes and benefits with lasting legacies.
