What's on City of Melbourne

Introduction

The Business Consultation Program was formed to provide information to guide decisions regarding industry sector interaction and engagement and to keep Melbourne City Council in close touch with what is happening in these sectors.

The business leaders consulted represent a wide cross-section of organisations, from multinationals to micro-businesses as well as industry associations. While not necessarily physically located in the City of Melbourne, all have significant interaction with, and presence in, the city.

An objective of the program was for the City of Melbourne to develop new relationships and strengthen existing communication networks between Melbourne City Council and business customers. It also aimed to help identify avenues in which council can support and encourage business expansion within the municipality and internationally.

Via feedback on the City of Melbourne’s performance, Council has gained an understanding of the issues that affect an organisation’s location rationale and future plans for investment and development.

Consultations were informal and received tremendous cooperation and support from Melbourne’s business community.

Should you wish to comment or consult with the City of Melbourne, there are a number of avenues. See Contact us.
