Raise your profile, improve your business networks, and gain exposure to the leaders and innovators of Melbourne business by engaging with Melbourne's associations and business groups.
The City of Melbourne partners and supports a number of business associations and organisations who broaden and expand its reach to the business community.
Melbourne Business Network
The Melbourne Business Network (MBN) established in 1995 has successfully expanded its reach and influence beyond the city and has grown to become an influential business membership association. MBN members are local and metropolitan companies, individual business consultants, a large variety of SME firms, educational institutions, national corporates, retail, hospitality and business services.
MBN runs an active program of events throughout the year including:
- Business Breakfast Club
- Celebrating Women in Business Supper Club
- Melbourne Day Debate
Celebrating Women in Business
In 2010, the Melbourne Business Network launched a new supper club series to celebrate women's achievements in business. The supper club series provides an opportunity for open discussion in a relaxed atmosphere to recognise the enormous benefits of diversity women offer at all levels of business, by embracing what is special, different and remarkable about them, and their contribution to improved business performance. Contact Melbourne Business Network to find out about the next event planned.
Business3000
Business3000 supports business success and excellence in Melbourne. Through this network achievements and innovation of Melbourne businesses are acknowledged and recognised through an annual awards program.
Four major business breakfasts will be held throughout the year, with a distinguished guest speaker. Three award nominees are given the opportunity to highlight their achievements at each function, with approximately 200 business people from across Melbourne attending.
The award categories are:
- export
- innovation
- community responsibility
- new business
These events provide opportunities for business people to establish compatible networks, learn from the successes that others have achieved, exchange ideas and discuss business issues.
Join a precinct group
Seven precinct groups in the City of Melbourne municipality represent businesses, service providers and retailers.
Busineses interested in becoming members of the representative precinct group can contact their relevant association in the Precincts program.
