About the amendment
In 2010-11, the City of Melbourne assessed 99 heritage-graded buildings in the central city (Hoddle Grid) area. The study reviewed the heritage significance of these buildings to see whether they warranted heritage protection in the Melbourne Planning Scheme.
Planning Scheme Amendment C186 was prepared to introduce heritage overlay controls over 98 places identified in the heritage review.
The amendment was split into two parts by the Minister for Planning on 25 July 2013.
