My City

From Australia Day to Saturday 28 January children created their own adventures in Melbourne with the help of ArtPlay staff. See the children play the parts of the wacky superheros riding a tram, flying above the Arts Centre spire and battling and be-friending a giant snail.

Splash & Fly
An animation project by ArtPlay. © ArtPlay 2010 & 2011.
On the Queens birthday weekend in June 2011 and June 2010, children storyboarded magical scenes with artists Ben Landau and Ben Goodes to create some super fun films.
Children were given the themes of "Splash" and "Fly" and were able to create stories and act them out stop-animation style while the camera clicked away from above capturing the action.

In April 2011, children aged six to twelve years worked with artists and animators Dell Stewart and Kate Matthews in a series of workshops where they created animal self portraits using traditional cut-out animation techniques. The films were also screened at Federation Square as part of the July 2011 school holiday program.
