Evolution
Evolution is a program dedicated to young people aged 13 to 19 who are not currently studying or employed. For two days a week over eight weeks, young people can work in a flexible, supported studio environment to make art. Working alongside professional artists and youth workers, young people will be exposed to a range of different art forms including visual art, design, film/video, animation and photography.
Evolution is a free program open to young people from all walks of life and artistic ability. Applications by referral: please contact Belinda Biffin (via details below) for further details.

Signal Curators
Signal has young people at heart. At Signal we believe curating is about telling a story through art. The Signal Curators program invites young people to help us tell the story of Signal.
Each month Signal Curators come together with Signal staff to shape the studio's future exhibitions and workshop programs, developing their own skills as the curators of the future. Guided by artists and professionals from some of Melbourne's top cultural institutions and galleries, the Signal Curators get a behind-the-scenes look into each stage of the curatorial process.
If you're interested in becoming a Signal Curator and shaping the future of Signal get in touch by email.
Signal Street Art Mentoring
The City of Melbourne has reinstated the Union Lane street art mural with new works.
Located in the heart of Melbourne's busy central city retail hub, the lane links Bourke Street Mall and Little Collins Street. The high quality street art in Union Lane attracts visitors on a daily basis.
Managed by the Signal, Union Lane is painted by professional artist mentors and young people engaged in the Street Art Mentoring Project.
The next street art mentoring weekend is from 30 June to 1 July, from 11am to 4pm on both days.
For more information, including details on how to potentially become involved as an artist, please visit Signal Street Art Mentoring.
