What is pay-by-phone?
Pay-by-Phone allows motorists to make payments for on-street parking using their credit card and a mobile phone.
Using pay-by-phone means motorists don’t have to search for coins or predict how long they are going to stay. They only pay for the exact time that they are parked, after a quick and free registration process.
Where can I use pay-by-phone?
The City of Melbourne will conduct a pay-by-phone trial in a small section of Carlton from 5 September 2011, for a twelve-month period. During this time, motorists can choose to pay for their parking using their mobile phone and a credit card when they park in the area bounded by Victoria Street to the south, Swanston Street to the east, Cemetary Road East and Princes Street to the north and Nicholson Street to the east.
