What's on City of Melbourne

Design snapshots

The Australian Government's Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO) has developed a partnership with the City of Melbourne to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This plan is in alignment with Council's target to achieve zero net emissions across its municipality by 2020.

Under the partnership arrangement, the AGO and the City of Melbourne set out to review and document the learnings and experiences gained through the design, construction and commissioning of CH2. The intention was to produce a case study of best practice green building design and construction documentation that would help others achieve and exceed this standard in the future.

As a result, a series of design snapshots have been produced which document the unique, integrated approach taken by the City of Melbourne in the design and construction of CH2 and how this particular approach facilitated the incorporation of best practice ecologically sustainable design features.
