What's on City of Melbourne

Childcare options

There are a number of childcare options available within the City of Melbourne.

City of Melbourne Children's Services Policy and Procedure Manual

The new National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and Care requires that service policies are updated to reflect current legislative requirements. These policies assist services to maximise children's development and learning.

Family day care

Family day care is an alternative to centre-based childcare, where children are looked after in the homes of carefully selected carers.

Carers are registered with family day care schemes which manage requests for care and provide training and support for carers.

The Brotherhood of St Laurence provides a Family Day Care Scheme in the municipality. Contact the Brotherhood of St Laurence for enquiries about using the service or becoming a carer.
