6.     Applications are to be submitted 3 months prior to the required installation date.

7.     Permits are issued for a minimum period of 6 months, extensions may be granted for a minimum period of 3 months.  

8.     Approvals and extensions are not automatic and generally depend on demands within the area and compliance with various permit conditions.

9.     Applicants may be subject to loss of revenue charges where parking changes result in meters being removed.

10.   Concrete pumps, cranes etc located within the construction zone require additional space permits.

12.   Advance notice of at least 48 hours is required for all permits unless stated otherwise, a fast  track fee of $550 may apply (at the discretion of Team Leader or Authorised Officer) if adequate notice is not given.

Deposits & Bonds

Council may require a deposit/bond to be provided where damage to Council’s assets could occur.

The deposit amount will vary according to the nature and duration of works and type of footpath construction that is required where damage to Council’s assets could occur. A deposit may range from $2,000 to $25,000. Above $5,000 an unconditional bank guarantee may be provided. 



To prevent delays submit with permit applications all supporting documentation as required by the Code of Practice for Public Safety and Amenity.

  • Fees marked with * are inclusive of GST.
  • Conditions apply for each permit type and are dependant on the nature and duration of work.

Note: Conditions apply for each permit according to nature and duration of works.

  • Permits are issued for a maximum period of six months. Extension is not automatic and depends on:
    • demands within the area
    • compliance with various permit conditions.
  • Deposits are normally required to be paid prior to the issuing of a permit where damage to Council's assets may occur. Amounts greater than $5000 could be in the form of an Unconditional Bank Guarantee and the amount varies according to nature and duration of works and type and extent of footpath construction.
  • Advance notification is required for all permits, as detailed on the Schedule of Fees.
  • To prevent delays submit with permit applications all supporting documentation as required by the Code of Practice for Public Safety and Amenity.
  • Where applicable, all fees are inclusive of GST.
