About Arts House
The City of Melbourne’s Arts House presents a curated program of contemporary art featuring performances, exhibitions, live art and cultural events. Central to all Arts House activity is a commitment to supporting the development and presentation of contemporary arts practices and new ideas.
Applying for CultureLAB
CultureLAB is the Arts House dedicated venue-based creative development program, conducted in partnership with Arts Victoria.
CultureLAB supports artists, collaborators and communities to develop innovative arts-based projects that explore new conceptual or creative directions.
From creative developments, collaborations and explorations, to mentor programs and residencies, CultureLAB supports artists across all art forms to create powerful, exciting, ground breaking and original works.

Grants worth: Up to $12,000
Venue: Activity must occur at Arts House, Meat Market
Outcomes: CultureLAB grant recipients are not required to have an outcome, however, where there is an anticipated public showing you must obtain a quote for in-house tech support and include it in your application.
Support: Applicants must meet with the Arts House Associate Producers and/or Artistic Director prior to applying. Applicants must also include the cost of venue hire, technical staff and production through Arts House resources in their budget. To obtain a quote contact the Bookings Officer on 03 9322 3719.
Timing: CultureLAB Expressions of Interest are assessed twice in a 12-month period.
Funding rounds
Applicants can apply for funding only once per production.
2012 Round one: For projects between 1 January - 30 June 2012 is now closed.
2012 Round two: For projects between 1 July - 31 December 2012
Opens: Monday 12 September
Closes: Friday 21 October

Posted applications
