We are developing an Open Space Strategy which will guide the planning and management of our parks and gardens for the next 10 years.
This includes assessing the existing open space, what you value about it and any issues that limit your current use or value of it.
Your feedback will help the City of Melbourne develop a strategy that better provides for your needs and those of an increasing population.
Have your say
The City of Melbourne welcomes your feedback on the draft Open Space Strategy. Consultation on the draft strategy is open until Tuesday 28 February. Find out how to get involved.
About the Open Space Strategy
The impacts of climate change and population growth are just two major issues that will be addressed within the strategy.
Our parks and gardens play an important role in the heritage value, ecology and health and wellbeing of the municipality and its people.
The City of Melbourne manages more than 500 hectares of open space including more than 60 parks, gardens and boulevards.
The City of Melbourne’s Open Space Strategy will enable us to:
- protect and enhance a network of high-quality open spaces
- plan for use and access to open space
- address issues of relevance across the municipality and
- prioritise issues and resources.
