What's on City of Melbourne

Maribyrnong River Valley vision and design guidelines

The Maribyrnong River Valley Project (MRVP) is a regional planning initiative to protect Melbourne’s Maribyrnong River for future generations. The project is part of the State Government's Melbourne 2030 plan.

The project establishes a long-term vision for the river valley and presents planning guidelines to ensure its environment, recreational and aesthetic values are protected.

The project team consisted of representatives from the State Government (Department of Sustainability and Environment and Parks Victoria), the Cities of Maribyrnong, Melbourne, Brimbank, Moonee Valley and Hume, and Melbourne Water.

In October 2007, the City of Melbourne endorsed the Maribyrnong River Valley Vision and Design Guidelines.
