About Events Melbourne Sponsorships

The City of Melbourne Council Plan 2009-2013 identifies Council’s goal to capitalise on our international profile as a sporting city and promote our world famous events to ensure people continue to visit and take part in our diverse events and activities calendar.

The City of Melbourne recognises events play an important part in the city’s wellbeing by helping to activate precincts, raise the city’s profile, assist in building relationships, deliver economic benefit and enliven the city.

Events Melbourne offers two sponsorship programs:

• the Triennial Sponsorship Program (TSP), offered every three years; and
• the Event Partnership Program (EPP), which is conducted on an annual basis and has two funding rounds a year.

Applicants can only apply for funding once per event per year and funding can be cash and/or in-kind.

TSP recipients cannot directly apply for an annual EPP unless it is a completely separate event from that which they are already receiving sponsorship.
