What's on City of Melbourne

Young People grants

Grants open: 7 May 2012
Grants close: 18 June 2012

The 2013 Community Services grants program is available to not-for-profit organisations seeking to undertake projects in 2013. The program creates opportunities for our community to join in and enjoy city life and contribute to Melbourne’s safety, health and happiness.

Last year’s Community Services grants program allocated approximately $778,000. Details of projects funded in the past are available online

Category one: Young People grants

  • Open to: not-for-profit organisations
  • Grants for: eligible projects designed to improve the opportunities and wellbeing of young people aged 12 to 25 years.
  • Grant value: up to $10,000

Young People grants are awarded to projects that match the directions outlined in the City of Melbourne’s 'Empowering Young People – Young People’s Policy 2010–13'. The policy responds to the current and future needs and interests of young people aged from 12 to 25 years who live, study, work and visit the municipality.

Your project must address one or more of the following goals from the Young People’s Policy:

  • participation, leadership and empowerment
  • healthy and active young people
  • fulfilling learning and earning potential
  • safe places to go and things to do
  • effective partnerships and joint responses.
