Active Seniors grants

The 2013 Active Seniors grants assist organisations and groups whose function is to enhance older people's social opportunities and inclusiveness within their community. Organisations will be funded for activities that aim to:

  • reduce social isolation
  • encourage seniors to be active in their community
  • improve seniors’ health and wellbeing.

Priority will be given to groups and organisations that encourage active and healthy lifestyles.

Community Meals Subsidy

The City of Melbourne provides a subsidy for the provision of meals to community groups and organisations supporting seniors. Community meal subsidies are available in 2013 for seniors’ organisations that meet and share a meal on a regular basis.

Priority is given to groups and organisations that:

  • provide a healthy, nutritious and affordable meal option
  • offer a culturally appropriate meal if providing a meal for culturally and linguistically diverse seniors
  • provide a range of activities or services that enhance senior’s social opportunities and support an active and healthy lifestyle.
