The 2013 Community Services grants program is available to not-for-profit organisations seeking to undertake projects in 2013. The program creates opportunities for our community to join in and enjoy city life and contribute to Melbourne’s safety, health and happiness.
Last year’s Community Services grants program allocated approximately $778,000. Details of projects funded in the past are available online.
Category 9: International Day of People with Disability 2013
- Open to: not-for-profit organisations
- Grants for: eligible programs designed to celebrate International Day of People with Disability in December 2013
- Grant value: up to $5,000
The City of Melbourne’s 'Our Melbourne – Disability Action Plan 2010-13' details the different ways in which it endeavours to make Melbourne a barrier free municipality, where people with a disability can access and participate in all aspects of life with dignity and independence.
This plan includes a commitment to support International Day of People with Disability. These grants are awarded to programs designed to celebrate International Day of People with Disability on 3 December 2013.
Your project must support one or more of the following themes:
- promoting the diversity and talent of people with disabilities
- raising positive community awareness of disability
- providing learning and development opportunities for people with disabilities
- creating sustainable and positive outcomes for people with disabilities.
Additional assessment criteria
- Activities are scheduled (at least partially) for the week commencing Sunday 1 December and concluding Friday 7 December
- People with disabilities have been involved in the planning, development and implementation process.
Successful applicants to this category will be required to include the Department of Human Services’ logo on promotional material.
