Community Capital grants

The 2013 Community Services grants program is available to not-for-profit organisations seeking to undertake projects in 2013. The program creates opportunities for our community to join in and enjoy city life and contribute to Melbourne’s safety, health and happiness.

Last year’s Community Services grants program allocated approximately $778,000. Details of projects funded in the past are available online

Category 4: Community Capital grants

  • Open to: not-for-profit organisations
  • Grants for: capital works and maintenance grants that support the delivery of community services and programs
  • Grant value: up to $10,000

Community Capital grants support capital works and capital maintenance projects within community facilities. Organisations applying for a Community Capital grant are required to demonstrate how their project will support the delivery of services and programs to the community.

Priorities include capital works and maintenance that establish, upgrade or maintain community facilities to:

  • enhance the delivery of services and programs to the community
  • ensure a safe environment for the community
  • enhance environmental outcomes
  • improve accessibility.

Specific eligibility

  • The community facility is located within the City of Melbourne boundary and is not a Council owned building
  • Quotes for works or items are provided with the application.

Specific assessment

  • Building or landscape works for the establishment, upgrade or renewal of the facility are a priority; routine maintenance is a lower priority
  • The applicant demonstrates a matching contribution either in kind or in cash towards the capital works application.
