The 2013 Community Services grants program is available to not-for-profit organisations seeking to undertake projects in 2013. The program creates opportunities for our community to join in and enjoy city life and contribute to Melbourne’s safety, health and happiness.
Last year’s Community Services grants program allocated approximately $778,000. Details of projects funded in the past are available online.
Category 1: Active Community Participation grants
- Open to: local, volunteer-run community organisations
- Grants for: community-focused activities or programs that strengthen the local community
- Grant value: up to $3,000
The grants are available to organisations that strengthen the local community, address local issues and build social cohesion.
The grants are awarded to local, volunteer-run community organisations that need extra funds to deliver activities or programs that are an important part of people’s lives.
Applicants must respond to one of the following themes:
- sharing information or awareness raising about their community of interest
- increase organisation membership or volunteer participation
- encourage community participation in local decision making
- build community connections through functions, activities or events.
Additional eligibility
- Your organisation must be run entirely by volunteers and have no paid staff
- More than 50 per cent of your organisation’s members or participants are City of Melbourne residents.
