As part of its response to Homelessness, the City of Melbourne has separated the housing and homelessness elements of the previous Social Housing Strategy into two distinct documents. This allows Council to develop different responses to housing and homelessness, while acknowledging the critical links between the two complex issues.
The 2006–2009 Homelessness Framework and the Social and Affordable Housing Framework are under review in 2010. A new Homelessness Strategy is expected to be finalised by mid-2011.
