Jennifer Kanis is a lawyer and practices in employment, industrial relations and anti-discrimination law.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Jennifer was a secondary school teacher and communications consultant.
Jennifer is Chair of the Future Melbourne (People and Creative City) Committee and Deputy Chair, Future Melbourne (Planning) Committee. She is also Co-Chair of the Parks and Gardens Advisory Committee; Chair, Disability Advisory Committee; Chair, Family and Children's Advisory Committee and Co-Chair, Indigenous Advisory Panel.
She sits on the Housing Choices Australia Board and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Board.
Jennifer was the 2009 Convenor of Victorian Women Lawyers and currently sits on the VWL Executive Committee. She is a long-time resident of the Flemington and Kensington area and is a committee member and immediate past President of the Flemington Kensington Bowling Club.
