Dancing Rhymes (movement and singing)

Artists: Kat Worth and Roland Cox

Memorable nursery rhymes and lullabies will come to life as we dance and sing them together. Simple and playful dances will be shared to accompany our singing of familiar songs.

Your baby will love and admire your playfulness as you animate the songs they know and love. We will also learn some new songs to add to your repertoire and inspire your singing and dancing together at home.

This workshop will be fun and playful as well as gentle and relaxing. You don’t need to be a confident singer to join in, so don’t be shy about bringing your voice, as it’s the one your baby already knows and loves.

Lullabies for Your Baby

Artist: Nina Laitala

Lullabies are a beautiful way to promote bonding and music with your baby. The lilting melodies and comforting words help soothe adults and children. The act of singing releases endorphins, so what better way to end a busy day than with a peaceful song lovingly written by you for your child?

In this workshop, Nina Laitala will explore the secrets behind a good lullaby through gentle musical activities and group song-writing. Parents will be encouraged to express their nurturing side through song and take home a new lullaby for their child as well as tips to transform any experience into a sleep time serenade.

Sounds like Somewhere

Created by Jessica Wilson and Jordan Crugnale, with compositions by Rodolphe Blois

Enter a room where everything hangs in the air.

Is this under the sea?

…Or high up in a forest of trees?

Twist, tie, thread, stick and peg. Make shapes and hang ribbons to build a world of colour.
And listen to the sounds that change the way you look at the landscape all around.

This is a creative and contemplative sound and visual installation set under a large child-sized ceiling.  Different sonic worlds are experienced as you move through the space and add your own creations to a shifting hanging world.
